York Sunbury Search and Rescue is proud to announce that on November 1, 2018, we successfully activated our first client for the Project Lifesaver Program. Project Lifesaver involves fitting clients diagnosed with Alzheimers disease, dementia, autism, traumatic brain injuries, or related afflictions which may increase their likelihood to wander or become lost; with a bracelet which will enable Search and Rescue personnel to quickly find them using radio receivers programmed to the particular frequency assigned to the missing individual.

Recent statistics show that Project Lifesaver searches have drastically reduced search times, which greatly increases survivability for the missing individual .

York Sunbury Search and Rescue (YSSR) currently have 8 members trained as Electronic Search Specialists with Project Lifesaver International, and plan to continue to expand in the coming months

If you or someone you know are interested or would like further information on the benefits of Project Lifesaver, feel free to contact York Sunbury Search and Rescue by phone at 506-461-5832
