Greenwood Drive – Notice of Construction July - ???

Greenwood Drive  – Notice of Construction - This project will be completed in 2 phases.

Phase 1 will include a full closure of Greenwood Drive from Birch crescent to the intersection of Greenwood Drive and Route 8.  Water and sanitary sewer mains will be renewed in addition to some storm sewer renewal.  New curbing, sidewalk, and asphalt road surface will also be installed.  This project will impact transit services and bus stops along Greenwood drive will be closed for the duration of the project.  A taxi service will be provided for monthly bus pass holders (see details here).  A temporary water system will be used to maintain the water service to homeowners during construction.  Frequently asked questions can be found here.

Phase 2 will include a partial closure of Greenwood drive from the intersection with Route 8 to the City limits near Civic #310.  This partial closure may reduce traffic to one way flow using flagpersons and/or traffic lights.  Expect delays.  The water and sanitary sewer mains will be renewed and some storm sewer will be renewed.  New curbing will be installed on the north side of the street in addition to a new asphalt road surface. A temporary water system will be used to maintain the water service to homeowners during construction. Frequently asked questions can be found here.

Please note:  the intersection of Greenwood Drive and Route 8 will have a partial closure while water and sanitary sewer mains are renewed through the intersection.  This will impact traffic traveling along Route 8.

*Fredericton Transit will only be able to service as far as Carman Avenue.  The 14N Barkers Point will use Carman, Colwell, Sumac and to the end of the line.  Passengers who live on Greenwood Drive pass Carman Avenue will be provided taxi service by the City.  They will need to purchase a monthly pass and then call Transit (460-2210), will arrange for a taxi to get them downtown to Kings Place.
